Helen Curzon

Business Owner & Clinical Lead

Helen is the founder of Corefitphysio and leads our Senior Physiotherapy team and our clinical direction.
 
Before moving to London, Helen enjoyed a career as a principal professional contemporary dancer, choreographer and expert dance teacher in Port Elisabeth, South Africa. They also owned and operated a studio offering dance, Pilates & yoga.
 
Helen graduated from the University of East London with the First Class degree in Physiotherapy. Post graduating, Helen continued her training with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute (APPI) & has been deeply involved in Pilates and musculoskeletal physiotherapy ever since, fulfilling various roles in the private sector across London. Helen relishes her role as Clinical Lead at her practice in Westcott, and nowadays in addition to her clinical hours busies herself with new teacher training & business development/management.
 
Helen enjoys practicing Pilates & yoga, has a strong appreciation for the arts & loves being in water. She finds it hard to resist cart-wheeling down sand dunes.
Deborah Nichols

Client Director

Deborah joined the team in August 2022 and specialises in business development, marketing communications and client experience with particular focus on shaping and expanding the client offering, improving business efficiency, consistency, flexibility and long term growth.
 
In her last role as Client Director and subsequently Managing Director for a creative digital communications agency, she spent well over a decade delivering global technical communication projects for FTSE top 250 clients across a wealth of industry sectors.
 
In addition to overseeing non-clinical best practice at Corefitphysio, Deborah is responsible for the co-ordination of existing and new activities for the practice, developing existing and new offerings, shaping client events and nurturing our professional partnership programme.
 
Her role is to ensure our clients are happy and looked after beyond usual expectations throughout their journey with us.
Arion Faria

Reformer Pilates Instructor 

Arion is a clinical Pilates instructor that has over 8 years’ experience delivering Physiotherapy in Brazil. This incorporated Hydrotherapy and Reformer Pilates. The knowledge and expertise he brings to the Team at Corefitphysio is a great asset.

He studied a 5 year degree in Physiotherapy at Unifeso, Teresoplis, Brazil. He also trained as a Pilates instructor including the large equipment we use at the clinic and is as a Sports Massage Therapist. At this moment in time he is transferring his Physiotherapy qualifications to be registered with the Health Care Professionals Council here in the UK.

He has also most recently worked as a Physiotherapist at the Environmental Ministry of Brazil and volunteered as a forestry firefighter!

In his spare time Arion enjoys practicing Yoga and Pilates and spending time with his young family.

Danni Thorn

Physiotherapist

Danni graduated from Kings College London with an MSc Physiotherapy, after graduating with an Exercise and Sports sciences  Honours degree from the University of Exeter and  has over 8 years of clinical experience in rehabilitative exercise, physiotherapy management and musculoskeletal treatment.
 
Danni has numerous extra-curricular accomplishments and strings to her bow that place her in excellent stead to help and understand our Corefitphysio clients. She has played in the National Youth Orchestra and as an 18 year old completed her BCU Kayak coach qualification. Whilst studying for her MSc degree she completed Fitness Instructor and Personal Training qualifications and later APPI Matwork  and Equipment Pilates certification. She has also completed specific Pre and Postnatal Exercise training which she will surely be tapping into as she treats our expecting and new-mum clients.
 
Danni believes in applying herself ‘100% to everything’ she does and feels this has allowed her ‘to achieve highly, both academically,  in personal achievements and in reaching great outcomes for clients’.
 
Coming from an exercise background Danni is able to combine a hands-on approach using physiotherapy manual techniques with the active benefits rehabilitative exercise and clinical Pilates brings.
Miranda Houldey

Physiotherapist

After graduating from the University of East Anglia with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, Miranda completed her junior rotation before taking a senior post, specialising in neurology. She worked in inpatients & community rehabilitation before joining heads up! In Dorking. There she treated a range of neurological conditions and gained experience in working with people with balance & vestibular problems.

Miranda has completed her advanced Bobath training & has continued with her post-graduate professional development, by training in clinical pilates.

Rachelle Brown

Physiotherapist

Rachelle studied her first degree in psychology at Keele University. It was there that she realised a passion for promoting physical health and mental well-being through exercise. She went on to study physiotherapy at the University of Brighton, graduating in 2009.
Rachelle has worked at St Georges NHS University hospital. She has gained experience in a variety of disciplines before specialising in musculoskeletal outpatients. Her specialist areas include orthopaedics, women’s health and hand therapy.
Rachelle has completed her APPI Pilates training and has found it particularly useful for treating and preventing injury.
In her spare time, you can find her down at the stables and riding her horse.

Robyn Boothroyd

Physiotherapist

Robyn graduated from the University of Nottingham as a Physiotherapist and has over 10 years of clinical experience with a career that spans across Hong Kong, Singapore and London.
 
She is a certified Polestar Pilates for Rehabilitation practitioner which furthers her ethos of ‘let exercise be your medicine’. Her physio career began in a large public hospital in Singapore where she was exposed to a wide variety of acute, chronic and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries. She then transitioned into the private sector to further pursue the use of Pilates in her rehab and to continue her passion of healing through movement.
 
Having always taken an active interest in sports and fitness Robyn appreciates the need for clients to be able to function at their peak and stay injury free. She believes Physio:Pilates to be an excellent pairing to assist anyone recovering from injury; or to further challenge their athletic ability. Coming from a background of physiology and kinesiology Robyn is able to combine a hands-on approach of myofascial release or dry needling with the active benefits that Pilates exercise brings.
Serji Morse

Physiotherapist

Serji graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and subsequently worked within the NHS. She has always had a keen interest in sport and fitness, from team sports, to regularly attending the gym. She loves walking and running, and has completed the New York and Edinburgh Marathons.

In recent years, she has developed a great appreciation for the health benefits of Pilates and completed her Level 3 Diploma with JPilates. She has a special interest in pre and post natal exercise and is in the process of completing the Level 3 Award in Pre and Post Natal Training.

Serji is extremely passionate about fitness and health and has a genuine desire to help people to live healthier and happier lives.

Tara O'Leary

Physiotherapist

Tara qualified with an honours degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in 2004, having previously completed degree in Human Biology from Loughborough University. She has worked within the NHS for 10 years where she worked in musculoskeletal outpatients, providing hydrotherapy (lead clinician), acupuncture, triage clinics, Clinical pilates classes, and rehabilitation programmes for both acute and chronic injuries.
Tara has worked exclusively in private practice since 2014 and has a keen interest in sporting injuries. She has worked with elite rowers, swimmers, rugby players and runners, returning them to sporting fitness. Tara is qualified in acupuncture, sports massage (ITEC level 4) and is trained in APPI pilates. Personally, she has medalled twice at a national level in lightweight rowing and has a strong swimming and running background.
Tara has completed Corefitphysio’s intensive and comprehensive inhouse pilates training involving a month of internship.
When she is not working Tara can be found chasing glory with the Elmbridge Phoenix Masters swimming club, or cycling running along the Thames river paths.
